Meet Our Team
Committed To Your Well Being
Every patient is under the care of a radiation oncologist who is a cancer specialist with expertise in the application of radiation therapy as it is used in the management of cancer. Our goal is to maximize the chances of curing cancer while minimizing the radiation dose to normal organs, thus attempting to maintain your quality of life and preserve your normal organ function. Our radiation oncologists and staff members are committed to your well being.

Behind the scenes
Before radiation treatment can begin, there is a lot of work that is performed behind the scenes. This is the work of the radiation physics team. This team includes a medical physicist and certified medical dosimetrist. They work together with your radiation oncologist using special computers and software to determine the best delivery of radiation therapy. They also perform standard quality checks on a weekly basis during your treatment and are responsible for quality assurance testing on the machine with regular testing that is reported to the State of Iowa as required by law.

Radiation treatment delivery
Radiation therapists are specially trained and certified in the delivery of radiation therapy. They work under the direct supervision of the radiation oncologist to administer daily radiation treatments. They are responsible for daily patient positioning for therapy, delivery of treatment, and maintenance of daily records. Additionally, they perform routine checks on the treatment machine to verify proper and accurate treatment conditions.
